Breaking New Ground: IMPRAC Sends First Cohort to Mauritius

The International Migration Policy Recruitment and Advisory Centre (IMPRAC) has marked a significant milestone by successfully sending its first group of skilled professionals to Mauritius. This exciting development underscores IMPRAC’s commitment to facilitate fair and ethical recruitment and safeguard conditions that ensure decent work.

IMPRAC is a reputable Private Recruitment Agency that promotes safe, regular and well-informed migration through reliable information and timely advice to migrants and their families to support fair recruitment of labour for decent work globally.

A New Chapter in IMPRAC’s support to Africa Regional Integration

The selected individuals, hailing from diverse professional backgrounds including; Foremen, Carpenters, Electricians, Masons and Tylers are set to contribute their skills, knowledge and expertise to the Mauritius construction industry. Whilst this initiative provides Mauritius with the required labour needs, it also provides these artisans with valuable international experience and exposure and also expected to support their families in Ghana through remittances and other resources.

Ensuring a Smooth Transition

IMPRAC has been diligent in preparing the cohorts for their new roles in Mauritius through effective coordination with the relevant authorities in Ghana and Mauritius including; the Ministries of Labour in Ghana and Mauritius as well as the Ghana Mission in Mauritius. The Candidates were selected through technical assessment and certification of their competencies by the Accra Technical Training Centre (ATTC) one of IMPRAC’s highly valued partners. Comprehensive pre-departure briefing sessions were conducted, covering topics like cultural and air-travel orientation and socio-economic profile of Mauritius.. This holistic approach ensures that the migrant workers are well-equipped to integrate seamlessly into their new environment.

Looking Ahead

As IMPRAC continues to expand its horizon, this successful deployment to Mauritius sets a promising precedent for South – South cooperation and Africa regional integration through migration policy advice. IMPRAC remains dedicated to supporting migrants and host countries alike, fostering bilateral labour exchange through labour agreements and fair labour recruitment.
